2025 | Cherry Blossom Viewing | Water Capital Tokyo Kayak

Note: Please predict the optimal bloom period yourself and apply accordingly. If your chosen date does not align with the cherry blossom season, the tour will proceed as a regular Tokyo canal kayak tour without cherry blossoms.

Would you like to enjoy cherry blossom viewing by kayak in central Tokyo? We leisurely paddle through canals excavated during the Edo period, enjoying cherry blossom tunnels and unique views of Tokyo from the water. Even beginners or those without strong physical stamina can participate, as the calm, wave-free water ensures a relaxing experience.

Highlights☆

① Stunning cherry blossoms lining the canals:
You will paddle under branches that hang from the riverbanks, reaching down towards the water, and glide through petals floating on the surface. This creates a fantastical cherry blossom tunnel experience unlike any typical flower viewing.

② A hidden gem in central Tokyo:
Did you know such a place exists in the heart of Tokyo? This little-known sanctuary, even among locals, showcases historical scenery from the Edo era alongside a striking contrast with the towering modern cityscape. Witness a hidden side of Tokyo that has evolved from vast wetlands to Edo, and now into one of the world’s leading metropolises.

③ The “Mini Panama Canal” experience:
Koto City, resembling the Netherlands, lies below sea level. Two large lock gates allow for water level adjustment and boat navigation between canals, connecting to the Arakawa and Sumida Rivers. These massive structures—dubbed “Mini Panama Canals”—can be traversed by kayak, offering an awe-inspiring experience.

④ Freshly roasted specialty coffee:
Enjoy tea time with specialty coffee roasted from green beans right before your eyes, then freshly ground and brewed. Savor this luxurious coffee experience.

Application Period: Open continuously
Tour dates are flexible, but predicting the bloom period is up to applicants. Apply early—first-come, first-served. If your date falls outside the bloom period, the tour will not include cherry blossoms.
